2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Delivers Over 600 Horsepower

Just one month after revealing a new Challenger at the New York Auto Show, Dodge is now introducing more powerful versions of the iconic car. New SRT versions of the Challenger are making their way to the production line later this year. The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT receives a 392 HEMI V-8 with an upgraded 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. Even more impressive is a new 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat, which will house the most powerful V-8 engine ever produced by Chrysler Group. This model will be the first to employ V-8 supercharger technology, which will help the massive 6.2-liter engine achieve "600-plus" horsepower. In both versions, buyers will be able to choose from a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic, which is brand new to the Challenger SRT lineup.
The SRT models receive new driving modes—Sport, Track, and Custom-- that help owners personalize their experience behind the wheel. Hellcat models receive the largest front-brake package ever on an SRT vehicle, including standard 15.4-inch Brembo two-piece rotors with six-piston calibers. Both cars also offer Valet Mode with a special key, which limits horsepower and torque to prevent theft or misuse. For 2015, all Challenger models receive a distinct retro appearance, and an aggressive yet functional shape. But the SRT Hellcat models kick this up further, with a larger front splitter to optimize downforce, quad projector headlamps, taller rear spoiler, and massive 20 x 9.5-inch wheels. Inside, you can see inspiration from 1971 with a trapezoidal center console and analog speedometer. Also look for Laguna leather seats that come with maximum support for cornering. Challenger SRT models will be available in various shades including blue, red, lime green, silver, white, grey, and black.
