Audi Q3 Camping Tent Concept Hits Wörthersee
Luxury automakers are known for offering strange options on their cars. Can you forget the Mercedes-Benz neck warming "scarf" or the backseat champagne cooler offered in the Hyundai Equus? Not to be defeated, Audi is taking it one step farther with the Q3 camping tent concept. Audi recently announced what it will offer at the Wörthersee festival this year, and an outdoor variant of the Q3 was one of the more curious items on the list. This model, rolled out through Audi Original Accessories, offers a giant tent that can either stand by itself or be fastened to the opened rear hatch of the Q3. Audi owners simply remove the tent structure from a bag, roll it out, and pump it up—all in about 7 minutes. From what we can see, this tent looks a lot more durable than your typical camping gear. According to Audi, the tent can withstand winds up to 43 mph. Adding to its sporty appeal, the model also comes with a kayak rack and alloy wheels. Under the hood, the Audi Q3 has a 2.0-liter diesel four-cylinder engine with 177 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. In the U.S., we will see the Q3 this year with a 2.0-liter engine good for 200 hp. It will come paired with a six-speed Tiptronic transmission. Source: Audi
