BMW M5 Celebrates 30 Years

By | May 07, 2014
Thirty years ago, BMW introduced the first M5, and in celebration of this milestone, the automaker will be offering a limited production run of a 30th Anniversary Edition BMW M5 for 2015. Only 30 models will make their way to the U.S., but BMW will produce 300 worldwide. The 30th Anniversary Edition BMW M5 will be powered by a 600-horsepower, 4.4-liter turbo V8 and will start at $138,275. Able to go from 0 to 60 in just 3.7 seconds, the special edition M5 has become the most powerful production BMW ever made. Only the first 29 customers will be able to get their hands on the new model, as BMW will be holding on to the last copy. Along with the purchase of a 30th Anniversary Edition BMW M5, customers will receive an invite to the M Driving School at The Thermal Club in Palm Springs, Calif. This one-day event will let customers get the most out of their new M5 and to share in the history of the model.
To reserve one of the limited edition models, customers must call a special hotline, but that number will be given in parts starting on May 17, leading up to the final May 21 reveal. Customers should stay locked in on BMW of North America's Instagram channel (@BMWUSA), as that is where the number will be revealed. Source: BMW
