2015 Ford Focus ST Makes Official Global Debut
In celebration of the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom, Ford will debut the 2015 Focus ST, which features significantly enhanced driving dynamics, including handling and steering feel, among other changes. Back in 2002, Ford introduced the first Focus ST, and since then, the model has been continuously improved upon, making it one of the world's best-selling nameplates. Over 140,000 models have been sold in over 40 countries. "Since its debut, Focus ST has been bringing our fun-to-drive DNA to the hot hatch segment with a uniquely ford blend of driving dynamics, performance and style. Now, with improved dynamics, an updated suspension, new styling and a more sophisticated cabin, we expect the 2015 Focus ST will remain the hottest hatch worldwide," said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president, Global Production Development. The new 2015 Ford Focus ST will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine, with twin independent variable camshaft timing and high-powered direct injection. Mated exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission, the new Focus ST pumps out 252 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. For the new model year, Ford has redesigned the front and rear fascias for a more aggressive, sporty appearance. HID headlamps are now standard on the ST2 and ST3 models with Recaro seats, and LED signature lighting is also standard. Inside, the instrument panel has been redesigned, with new climate controls and finishes. The center offers more storage space, along with a new media bin with USB smart charging ports for faster charging. Source: Ford
