Four-Door Mini Hardtop Debuts

By January 2015, Mini will sell a four-door version of its classic Hardtop.
The new Hardtop 4 Door is 6.3 inches longer than the traditional Mini Cooper and has an expanded wheelbase for more interior room. Three seats fit in the back of the car, where headroom has also increased. But cargo space is still pretty limited in this car, jumping less than a cubic foot for a total of 9.2 cubic feet. A 60:40 folding split allows drivers to easily get rid of the back row for additional space.
The four-door Mini Hardtop features a familiar set of engine options. Buyers can choose from a three-cylinder engine with 134 horsepower or a four-cylinder with 189 horsepower on the S model. A six-speed manual and a Steptronic automatic are available on both trims, but only S models get a performance-tuned version of the automatic.
Standard features on the Mini Hardtop 4 Door include electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, inscripted door sill cover strips, Mini Radio with AUX-IN and USB interface, dual-zone climate control, sports leather steering wheel, cruise control, and rain sensor. Options include a rearview camera, panorama glass roof, and a Harman Kardon speaker.
Safety features on the four-door Mini Hardtop include knee, front, and side airbags and curtain airbags for both rows. Other features include a speed-related steering assistance system, ABS, EBD, cornering brake control and brake assistant, and dynamic stability control. Source: Mini USA
