Jaguar Confirms F-Type Project 7
In celebration of the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, Jaguar will debut the Jaguar F-Type Project 7, the first performance vehicle from Jaguar Land Rover's Special Operations team, and the most powerful production Jaguar ever built. Power will come from a 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 engine that pumps out roughly 567 horses. With a top speed of 186 mph, the F-Type Project 7 goes from 0 to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds. Not only does the newest variation of the F-Type feature a removable roof, but it is completely road legal. But those wanting to get their hands on this model will have to be quick, as Jaguar will only be producing 250 units of this limited edition model. Design elements separating the Project 7 from the rest of the F-Type lineup include a shorter windshield, new front bumper, downforce-increasing aerodynamic modifications, and more. And while the concept of this model was a one-seater, Jaguar has decided to make this a two-seater with rollover hoops for the driver and passenger integrated into the vehicle. When talking about the 2014 Jaguar F-Type Project 7, Mike Cross, Chief Engineer - Vehicle Integrity, Jaguar, said "Above all--F-Type Project 7 is fast… It uses all the key technologies we've proven on F-Type R Coupe to deliver absolute immediacy of response to all driver inputs, yet its focused nature has given us the opportunity to go further still. The result is a driving experience that's pure and involving in every sense." Source: Jaguar
