2015 Chevrolet SS Adds Manual Transmission
At a time when many automakers are ditching stick shifts, General Motors will add a manual transmission to the 2015 Chevrolet SS. According to a new order guide, a six-speed manual will join the standard six-speed automatic for the first time on this sports car. Opting for the new transmission removes the remote vehicle starter system that is standard on other SS models. Also new on the 2015 Chevrolet SS is standard Magnetic Selective Ride Control that promises greater ride comfort. All SS models will also receive OnStar with 4G LTE connectivity that creates a built in Wi-Fi hotspot to keep drivers connected on the road. The SS will also be available in a variety of creative new colors, including Regal Peacock Green, Some Like It Hot Red, Perfect Blue, and Alchemy Purple. The Chevy SS debuted last year as GM's answer to the Dodge Charger SRT8 and other high-performance sedans. It features a 6.2-liter V-8 engine good for 415 horsepower, 415 lb-ft of torque, and a 0-60 mph time of just 4.7 seconds. Other standard features on this model include 19-inch aluminum wheels, a sport tuned suspension, Brembo brakes , dual-zone automatic climate control, and heated and ventilated front seats.
