2015 Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid Arrives
Porsche has released full information on its 2015 Cayenne lineup, which will include a new plug-in hybrid version. The 2015 Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid will be the first plug-in hybrid luxury SUV on the market, complete with a lithium-ion battery and all the power buyers can want. Power of the electric motor has doubled from the Cayenne S Hybrid, achieving 95 horsepower on its own. This model features a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 paired with a 10.8 kWh battery and electric motor for a total output of 416 horsepower and 435 lb-ft of torque. This combination helps the Cayenne S E-Hybrid zip to 62 mph in just 5.4 seconds. In addition to the new plug-in, Porsche has updated the rest of the Cayenne lineup. Most notably, the Cayenne S replaces its V-8 with a new V-6 engine. A new twin-turbo V-6 delivers 420 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque, or 20 more horses and 37 more lb-ft than the outgoing engine. A re-tuned chassis is another update for 2015 Cayenne models all across the board. Launching November 1, the new Cayenne starts at $62,695 (including tax) for the diesel model. Cayenne S models begin at $75,095; plug-in hybrids start at $77,395; and the 520-horsepower Turbo goes for $114,595. Source: Porsche
