2015 VW Lineup: Eos Enters Final Year, Changes for Beetle and Golf

For 2015, Volkswagen has refreshed several models in its lineup, including the Beetle, Golf, GTI, Jetta, Passat, and Touareg. Meanwhile, a few models are on their way out this year.
The Beetle receives minor changes, including the addition of a limited-edition Classic trim level. This model features unique seat fabric, leather on the steering wheel, shift knob and parking brake, and other design extras. It will be one of a variety of new VW models to receive a new TDI clean diesel engine.
As previously reported, Volkswagen is also offering a new-generation Golf, starting at $17,995. With a new platform and a turbocharged engine, the Golf is completely fresh this year. Expect more standard equipment, including 5.8-inch touchscreen. Also a part of the new Golf family is the e-Golf, powered by a lithium-ion battery and electric motor for 199 lb-ft of torque. On the performance end, the Golf GTI is brand new and is bigger, lighter, and faster than ever, with 10 more horses under the hood. But the new Golf R comes in as the most powerful Golf ever in North America, and on top of that, it is more efficient than the previous version. The mainstream Jetta and Passat receive new EA288 TDI clean diesel engines for 2015 as well as a number of equipment updates. Perhaps most notably, the Jetta gets new all-around styling, improved aerodynamics, and new available driver assist systems like blind spot monitor, forward collision warning, and park distance control. VW has also confirmed that the Touareg SUV, which we reported on earlier, will arrive with a total facelift for the 2015 model year. Expect refreshed styling and new features on this model. A few models will not be in the 2015 VW lineup for much longer. The automaker has discontinued the Routan minivan for 2015, and the Eos convertible is also bidding farewell soon. In its last year, the Eos will be offered in a "Final Edition" model to replace the mid-trim Sport model. Source: Volkswagen
