BMW Auctions off One-Off i8 Concours d'Elegance Model
To help celebrate the arrival of the BMW i8 to the United States, the German automaker will be auctioning off a special edition of the model at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. All proceeds will go to the Pebble Beach Company Foundation and the Concours itself. The BMW i8 Concours d'Elegance special edition separates itself from the standard i8 model with a unique interior in Dalbergia Brown leather with BMW i Blue accent stitching, Frozen Grey Metallic exterior paint, and BMW i8 badging on the front headrests. Added to that, "Concours d'Elegance Edition" will be laser etched into the interior. The Concours will kick off later this month, and the auction will be handled by Gooding & Company, the official auction house of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The BMW i8 can drive on purley electric power at speeds around 75 mph for 20 miles, all the while producing zero tailpipe emissions. The i8 also marks the first model to hit our shores that offers laser headlights. The winning bidder will not only get their hands on a truly one-of-a-kind sports car, but also one of the first i8 models in the states. To learn more about the auction, go to www.goodingco.com.
