Volkswagen Recalls 2015 Golf and Golf GTI

By | July 29, 2014
This week, Volkswagen announced a voluntary recall that will affect select 2015 Golf and Golf GTI models. The automaker notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that the above vehicles may have issues with their fasteners and stabilizer rods. Affecting around 2,000 vehicles, the fasteners that secure the front stabilizer rods may work themselves loose over time. This would not only cause a significant amount of noise, but can also lead to the detachment of the rod which could interfere with steering. If this were to happen, an accident would be more likely to occur. Volkswagen has said that it will replace the front stabilizer rods on all the affected vehicles at no cost to the owner. As of right now, there have been no accidents or injuries reported in relation to this issue. Volkswagen urges owners of these models to schedule an appointment with their local dealers to see if their vehicles may be affected.
