2016 Kia Sorento Receives Updated Styling

Kia revealed the third generation Sorento today ahead of the SUV's official auto show debut.
The traditionally-sedate crossover SUV gains a more striking appearance for 2016 with a wider grille and angular headlights. The new Sorento is longer, lower, and wider than the current model, and it also has an extended wheelbase that promises more space for passengers in all three rows.
Soon-Nam Lee, vice president of Overseas Marketing for Kia, said, “The all-new Sorento has been completely redesigned and re-engineered, and promises to surprise customers with its thoroughly updated styling, a host of new convenience and safety technologies, as well as enhanced space, driving comfort and handling response.”
The final look of the Sorento resembles teaser sketches Kia released a little while back, as both models exhibit the same dramatic body lines and subtle rear wing. While we don't have a full view of the interior yet, we can expect a mostly functional design based on the sketches we've seen so far.
Updated styling and a few enhancements to the interior may help boost sales of this bread-and-butter crossover, which is related to the Hyundai Santa Fe. This year, sales have been declining for this SUV. So far, 60,670 Sorentos have been sold since July, slightly down from the 62,963 sold during the same time period last year.
