2006 Top Ten best selling cars, trucks

By Joel Arellano | September 11, 2006
Trucks such as the Ford F-Series (pictured) dominated the top slots despite continued high gas prices, showing that Americans still need such perennial workhorses. Cars, though, quickly followed, lead by Toyota’s popular Camry which was revised for this year.Forbes best selling vehicles include:
  1. Ford F-Series pickup
  2. Chevrolet Silverado pickup
  3. Toyota Camry convertible, coupe and sedan
  4. Toyota Corolla sedan
  5. Honda Accord coupe and sedan
  6. Dodge Ram pickup
  7. Honda Civic coupe and sedan
  8. Chevrolet Impala sedan
  9. Chevrolet Cobalt coupe and sedan
  10. Nissan Altima sedan
Our take? We, like Forbes, found it interesting that no SUV or even crossovers made the list. We agree with Forbes that while Americans continue to purchase pickup trucks for as flexible workhorses, buyers have put gas prices as “the priority” in their purchases and disregarding SUVs and CUVs other features such as heightened driver’s position or even reputation.
