2011 BMW 5 Series GT: Too Expensive for US Car Buyers
UK’s Autocar has recently released a review of the BMW 5-series Gran Turismo, a car that offers the elevated riving position of a SUV, the versatility of a hatchback, the space of a full-sized saloon, the wheelbase as a BMW 7-series and the price tag of a 5-series. Performance wise, the 5-series GT uses the same 3.0 liter six-cylinder diesel found in the new 730d, that packs plenty of power being capable of doing0-60 in 6.3 seconds, and 0-100 in 17.7 seconds. The inside of the GT is refined and described as “exceptionally comfortable and aesthetically pleasing.” However, all this refinement comes at the price of trunk space, offering very little cargo room for a car of its size. Our take? While it is a good car, the price tag of £40,810 price tag which equates to $61,000, is a bit too rich for our blood.
