2011 Los Angeles Auto Show: 2012 Porsche Panamera GTS Debut
What's New There's this constant cat and mouse game among the automakers and automotive journalists and reporters. The former knows it needs the latter to spread the news on its products to the buying masses but wants to time the release of the latest and greatest to maximize effect (and profit). Journalists and reporters make their living, well, reporting the automakers' latest info ASAP. Porsche surprised several media outlets—including us—with not one, but with two new announcements at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show. The first involves the Porsche Performance Center, a driving school in our home town of Los Angles, California. We're already jockeying who's gonna sign up for the first class. The second is the debut of the 2012 Porsche Panamera GTS. When it goes on sale early next year, it joins the base model, the Panamera 4, the S, the 4S, Turbo, Turbo S, and well as the hybrid models. We're really not surprised by Panamera GTS: its existence, again, highlights Porsche's commitment to all flavors, from luxury to sport, available to its discriminating buyers. Who's It For The 2012 Panamera GTS, like previous Porsche GTS models, is aimed at the enthusiast who wants the purest form of racing car experience on the track, even with an extra set of doors. Based off the Porsche Panamera 4S, the 2012 Panamera GTS aims to please with a more powerful engine, braking system, and uniquely active/reactive suspension system; a sporty chassis that's been lowered, reinforced, and stiffened to handle the twisties at the race track at high speeds; and sporty exterior and interior design. Key Features The 2012 Porsche Panamera aims to fulfill the sporty promise of its GTS nomenclature with the specific features and details:
The Volkswagen Passat is Motor Trend’s 2012 Car Of The Year.
