2012 Chevy Silverado Texas Edition Joins Ford Raptor, Toyota Tacoma TRD Baja Series at State Fair
Another 2012 pickup truck made its debut at the State Fair of Texas which has evolved into an unofficial automotive show. The 2012 Chevrolet Silverado Texas Edition is the latest entrant, following the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor and Toyota Tacoma TRD T|X Baja Series which debuted earlier in the week. Available on the 2012 Chevy Silverado 2500 Heavy Duty and 3500HD LT trims with extended or crew cabs, the Texas Edition adds larger wheels (20-inch for the 2500HD, 17 or 18-inch on the 3500HD); chrome door handles, exterior accents, and convenience features like EZ-lift tailgate. Inside, models get comfort features such as dual-zone climate control and six-way driver power seating as standard. Automotive.com's take: According to Dave Nottoli, the Chevy regional director for sales and marketing, Chevrolet took the 2012 Silverado and gave it some "Texas attitude". Really? With standard air-conditioning? We're seeing milder spicing at best, not Pace Picante sauce, flavoring this rugged pickup. Source: General Motors / Chevrolet
