2012 Hyundai Veloster Recall for Sunroof Issue

By Matthew Askari | December 19, 2012
Paragraphimage Hyundai is recalling its 2012 Veloster models for a sunroof issue. The highly styled, three-door-coupe's panoramic sunroof "may have been weakened" during installation, according to the National Highway Safety Traffic Administration.  Affected models were manufactured between November 1, 2011, and April 17, 2012. The Problem If the panoramic sunroof has been weakened, the glass panel could break which could injure the driver and occupants. If the car is in motion, broken glass could also increase the risk of an accident. The Fix Hyundai will notify owners of the recall, and dealers will inspect the roof's integrity. If the glass panel needs to be replaced, dealers will do so at no charge to the customer. The recall is expected to begin in January. Owners can contact Hyundai at (800) 633-5151, using Hyundai recall campaign number 108. Owners can also contact the NHTSA at (888) 327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or on the NHTSA website, www.safecar.gov. Source: NHTSA
