Kia's and Hyundai's are cheap reliable cars. I have had my car for 10 years and I haven't had any issues. Only maintenance.
2012 Kia Rio Priced Under $14,000
There's bad news and good news when it comes to prices on the 2012 Kia Rio. The bad news is that the 2012 Kia Rio will see a price bump of more than $1300. The good news is that the new Rio will still be one of the least expensive cars you can buy, and that extra $1300 puts you in a significantly better car. The Korean automaker set pricing for the restyled 2012 Kia Rio, with base models starting at $13,600, excluding delivery. Rios with an automatic transmission start at $14,700. The 2012 Kia Rio is available in three trims, LX, EX, and the top of the line SX trim which comes in just under $18,000. The SX features 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, twin-chrome exhaust-tips as well as the UVO infotainment system as a standard feature. A key selling point for the Rio is fuel economy, with estimates putting the Rio at 30 mpg city, and 40 mpg on the highway. The Rio uses Idle Stop and Go, which shuts the engine off at stoplights to help save fuel, a feature usually seen on hybrid models and in the luxury segment. Kia has been increasing its presence and sales in the U.S. every year, but what remains to be seen is can the automaker, like its Korean cousin Hyundai, steal market share from the likes of Toyota with its similarly priced Yaris, and Ford, maker of the buzz-worthy Fiesta.
