2012 Los Angeles Auto Show: Complete Coverage

By Automotive Staff | December 03, 2012
The 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show opened this weekend, and Automotive.com was on the scene at every debut, every unveiling, and every late-night party. While at least some of what goes on at the parties stays at the parties, the rest of the show is widely covered for all to see. While the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show was short on jaw-dropping concept cars and exotics, manufacturers made up for it with a plenty of new vehicle debuts targeting mainstream shoppers. For example, there was the 2013 Toyota RAV4, now minus a third row, and without a V-6 engine option. Chrysler quietly rolled out the 2013 Chrysler Town & Country S minivan, a more luxurious version of its seven-passenger people mover. The long version of the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe debuted as well, with more passenger room in the third row. Speaking of crossovers, the show was thick with them: The 2014 Subaru Forester; 2013 Mazda CX-9; 2014 Kia Sorento; and 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander, just to name a few. If sedans are more your thing, the Los Angeles Auto Show had plenty on hand. Honda revamped its Civic just one year after its introduction thanks to some scathing reviews, and the 2013 Honda Civic looks like it addressed many of the concerns we'd noted. The 2014 Mazda6 will be arriving soon, bringing sexy sheetmetal and diesel power to the midsize sedan class, making Mazda the only company besides Volkswagen to offer a diesel in the segment. An all-new --and very stylish--2014 Kia Forte debuted; on the other end of the family car spectrum, the 2013 Dodge Charger Daytona offers up a little V-8 power for your commute. There's more of course: Jaguar and Land Rover both had debuts, as did Porsche with the 2013 Porsche Cayman, and Acura unwrapped the 2014 Acura RLX luxury sedan. So go check out our complete coverage of theĀ 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show for yourself.
