2013 Acura TL Special Edition Debuts
Honda and Acura have been known to release special edition models as a car line nears the end of its life, and with the new TL due sometime next year, Acura has announced a special edition TL, with a starting price of $37,405. The new TL Special Edition will feature standard keyless entry, push-button start, color-matched deck lid spoiler and trunk-mounted Special Edition badging. The special edition will also come in four exterior colors including Bellanova White Pearl, Chrystal Black Pearl, Graphite Luster Metallic, and Silver Moon Metallic. All colors will be matched with an Ebony leather interior with contrast stitching. Standard on the new special edition are 10-way adjustable power driver's seat and 8-way adjustable power front passenger seat. It will also feature a power moon roof, dual-zone automatic climate control, with automatic humidity control, and standard technology features including a Bluetooth interface, USB port connectivity, and a high resolution infotainment system. The TL Special Edition will be powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine, with Acura's VTEC system. It produces 280 horsepower, and will be paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. A racing-inspired steering wheel with paddle shifters come standard, and the paddles work when the vehicle is in both Drive and Sport mode. Standard safety equipment includes Vehicle Stability Assist, front seatbelts with automatic tensioning system and load limiters, Daytime Running Lights, and Tire Pressure Monitoring System. The standard Acura TL has earned an IIHS Top Safety Pick+, and received a GOOD rating on the new small overlap frontal barrier crash test, which simulates an accident where 25 percent of the vehicle's front is struck by an object while traveling 40 miles per hour.
