2013 Fiat 500e Creates Cheeky "Dating Site" to Tout Eco-Features

By Matthew Askari | June 20, 2013
The 2013 Fiat 500e is the automaker's electric, zero-emission version of the Fiat 500, and to help get the word out, Fiat is having a little fun. The quirky Italian automaker has created the website EnvironmentallySexy.com to help owners and those interested in the electric microcar learn more about its features and eco-friendliness. There's also a series of mock-ads that play off the Match.com—and similar dating websites—TV spots.
"The Fiat 500e is not your typical battery-electric vehicle; it's innovative, stylish, fun to drive and affordable. It was the essential to design a site that would match the vehicle's persona and encourage visitors to test drive and ultimately purchase or lease a Fiat 500e," said Jason Stoicevich, head of Fiat brand North America. While the website has the feel of a matchmaking site, it delivers information on the 2013 500e in a number of formats, including quizzes and videos.
The Fiat 500e has an estimated driving range of 87 miles on a single charge, and starts at $32,600. California residents may be eligible for federal credits, state incentives, and Fiat rebates, which could mean a starting price as low as $20,600. You can check out a few of our favorite "matchmaking" videos below, and visit EnvironmentallySexy.com for more.
