2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 Priced, Adds Alpine, Vapor Special Editions
Every once and a while an automaker inadvertently comes up with a juggernaut of a vehicle. In this case, it’s the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. Now while the Grand Cherokee is more than capable without the SRT badge, a 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 engine rated at 470 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque, or low-end acceleration, can't hurt. In keeping with tradition of its new brute, the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 was unveiled earlier this week with Jeep throwing in the pricing. Alpine and Vapor special edition models have also been released for the upcoming model year as well. The base Grand Cherokee SRT8 model now starts at $60,920 (including destination) but you have to add another $2,495 if you want either the Alpine or Vapor goodies. Both are just fancy trim packages but both offer an exclusive color you can't get on the Grand Cherokee SRT8. A fully decked-out 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 dressed in either Vapor or Alpine trims will run you a cool $63,415. If you choose the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 Alpine edition, you'll get some special edition badging, a rear light bar, a bumper step pad, a glossy black grille, and 20-inch five-spoke wheels dipped in a black vapor chrome finish. The Alpine edition also comes in a Bright White unique to the package. As for the Grand Cherokee SRT8 Vapor edition, you get all of the aforementioned features but it's dipped in Brilliant Black, another color not offered on the usual SRT8 model. Previously, you could opt for the Luxury Group II package, which includes a power liftgate, a premium instrument panel and center console, and the finest leather door trimming offered by Jeep. Originally if you wanted that package, it'd set you back another $4,495 but starting with the 2013 model year, it's now a standard set of features. Source: Jeep
