The 2013 Lincoln MKZ online configurator has gone live and you can now customize one to your liking. While pricing and features are subject to change before Lincoln firms everything up, the configurator gives you a solid idea of what to expect. After entering your zip code, you're presented with the Premiere, Reserve, and Preferred model levels. There are two variants of the Premiere and Preferred models present, and one Reserve. The base Premiere model starts at $36,800 while the top-of-the-line Preferred is guaranteed to set you back at least $45,125, both prices are before any boxes are checked off. The base Premiere includes SYNC with MyLincoln Touch and an 8-inch touchscreen, a 10.1-inch LCD instrument cluster, and leather seating for the front seats. The other Premiere offers all of the aforementioned features but also includes a rear view camera, wood steering wheel, and LED-accented headlights. The middle-of-the-road Reserve model includes navigation with voice recognition, a blind spot information system with cross traffic alert, and leather and cooled seats for the front row. The fully decked-out Preferred model with a retractable panoramic roof comes standard with 19-inch polished aluminum wheels with painted pockets, a heated steering wheel, and a premium audio system that includes 14 speakers. Step down one level in the Preferred model and you still get all of the features just listed but only a single panel moonroof is included.
The 2013 Lincoln MKZ has five drivetrain options: a 2.0-liter EcoBoost in front- and all-wheel drive variants; a 3.7-liter V-6, also in front- or all-wheel drive; and a 2.0-liter hybrid front-wheel drive lay-out. The 2.0-liter EcoBoost engines are rated at 240 horsepower while the 3.7-liter engine provides 300 hp, and both mills are hooked to a six-speed automatic transmission. It's expected that the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine will turn in 22 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway while the 3.7-liter engine is rated at 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Lincoln's latest interpretation of the MKZ can be dipped in seven different exterior colors and three different interior color options are available. You can design your very own 2013 Lincoln MKZ by visiting the online configurator on the automaker's website. Stay tuned as pricing and a finalized features list is expected to be released in the coming months. Source: Lincoln
