2013 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class Unveiled before Official Debut in New York

By Trevor Dorchies | April 03, 2012
It appears as if someone just couldn't wait for the official unveil of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class full-size SUV in New York this week. With photos of the luxury SUV now available, we're throwing in some specifics to go along with the leaked photos, which have also been included. The 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class is the latest refresh of an SUV that has now been in action for six years. The new GL-Class shares architecture with the stubbier M-Class midsizer but fills the void left between the ML and pricey "Gelandewagen" G-Class. The latest Mercedes-Benz GL-Class shares many of its exterior styling cues with its predecessor but it seems as if the latest Mercedes-Benz SUV has spent some time hitting the gym. The latest GL-Class has been stretched out another half-inch, bringing its total length to 201.6 inches. Overall space, however,  remains untouched. A new dashboard makes its debut on the 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class and mirrors the one currently serving the ML. The infotainment system is now controlled by Benz's COMAND interface that is perched at the top of the center console. Three rows of seating hold space for seven passengers, and a new remote-unlatching second-row function grants easy access to the third-row seating.
