2013 Nissan 370Z Shown Off at Chicago Auto Show with a New Face
Usually when a vehicle reaches its third year in production, you can expect a refresh to be right around the corner. The 2013 Nissan 370Z is no different and the Japanese auto maker is looking to capitalize on an unusually quiet Chicago Auto Show this week. Nissan has decided to unveil the 370Z without many other auto makers having the ability to steal their thunder since unveils will be sparse. The most noticeable change to the 2013 Nissan 370Z is a revised front-end that is now fangless and gets a blacked-out rectangular design instead. Other pieces of flair come of the hands of vertical LED daytime running lights which sit on the outskirts of the front bumper. The Nismo 370Z will be the only variant to not receive a new face as Nissan decided to let it be. Other new exterior accents include 18-inch wheels for the coupe variant. The 19-inch wheel offering has also been tweaked and will be offered as part of the Sport Package. Red brake calipers can be seen peeking out from underneath the new or redesigned wheels too. Inside, Nissan added a new dark-finish trim to the fuel gauge. The 2013 Nissan 370Z didn't go under the performance knife too heavily either with only minor tweaks were made. The Sport Package will now come with brake parts borrowed from its wildly fast cousin, the GT-R. Euro-tuned shock absorbers have also been added to smooth out the 370Z's ride. Nissan knows they have a winner in the 370Z so they didn't go crazy with alterations leaving many familiar features intact. Components under the hood remain the same as Nissan has decided to leave the 3.7-liter V-6 engine which is rated at 332 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. The six-speed gearbox remains standard but a seven-speed automatic transmission is optional for all models but the Nismo. Pricing hasn't been announced yet for the 2013 Nissan 370Z but we expect to hear something in June of this year. Coincidentally that's closer to the scheduled on-sale date as well. Source: Nissan
