2014 BMW 4 Series Convertible Leaked by French Forum
Possibly to BMW's chagrin, photos of the 2014 BMW 4 Series Convertible have been leaked on a French forum. Then again, BMW has been spotted testing its new drop-top with very little camouflage, and the leaked photos are attractive, professional images shot by the automaker. As can be expected, the 2014 BMW 4 Series is very similar to the 4 Series Coupe, with the most obvious difference being the absence of a roof, if desired. A black panel behind the rear seats lifts and stows the 4 Series Convertible's roof, and we're guessing this will--as is typical of most convertibles--impede storage capacity somewhat. On the flip side, it'll be that much easier to build your vitamin D stores on sunny days, and blow-drying comes free. The 2014 4 Series Convertible replaces the 3 Series convertible in BMW's lineup, and like the 4 Series Coupe, is wider and lower to the ground. The lower center of gravity should pay dividends in sportier driving environments. The 2014 BMW 4 Series Convertible will share engines with the 4 Series Coupe. The BMW 428i will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine--all the rage these days--while the BMW 435i will employ a larger 3.0-liter V-6, good for 300 horses. A choice of a six-speed manual transmission, or an eight-speed automatic transmission is available. Source: Worldscoop
