2014 Cadillac CTS Spy Photos Give Clues After ATS and XTS

GM has spent much of the past several months prepping for the debut of the all-new 2013 Cadillac XTS luxury sedan, and more recently has spared little effort on the forthcoming "BMW 3 Series-killer," the 2013 Cadillac ATS. While the new Cadillac models won't be on sale for months, the automaker was recently spied testing the 2014 Cadillac CTS. Our friends at Automobile Magazine got their hands on some spy shots that give us a few clues on what we can expect for the next-generation Cadillac CTS. Predictably, the car will be a little larger to further differentiate itself from the new Cadillac ATS and to better compete with its Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series competitors. Under the camouflage we can see daytime LED running lights, and plenty of cutouts for radar-type sensors. The 2013 Cadillac ATS and 2013 Cadillac XTS will have crash-avoidance systems, adaptive cruise control, and parking sensors. Logically these would find their way on to the 2014 Cadillac CTS, too. In back we can see trapezoidal dual-exhaust tips, and more sensors. Overall the car bears much of the design language and sheet metal styling that we've come to expect. It's likely a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine capable of producing 270-hp will serve as the entry level Cadillac CTS powertrain, while a larger 3.6-liter V-6 may serve as the optional engine.
