2014 Cadillac ELR Winter Testing
The 2014 Cadillac ELR is now off the stage of its debut at the North American International Auto Show and in Michigan's Upper Peninsula for winter testing. In order to take the extended-range electric luxury coupe from the stage to showrooms, the ELR has to undergo real-world extreme testing, in order to properly evaluate the car's performance in winter weather conditions. With more than four inches of fresh snowfall during the test, the Cadillac testing team validated the final specifications for steering, tires, anti-lock brakes, and more. The ELR gives owners a sporty and confident handling character. "Being able to test the ELR in extreme road conditions, like those we experienced here in the U.P., allows us to provide a ride-and-handling character unlike any EV on the market today," said ELR chief engineer, Chris Thomason. The Cadillac ELR continues to perform beyond expectations. At the Detroit Auto Show, the Cadillac ELR won the Eyes on Design Award for best production vehicle. The coupe is based on the Cadillac Converj Concept and the ELR's exterior gives the brand a new, progressive proportion. Source: Cadillac
