2014 Chevrolet Silverado Texas Edition Revealed

It may not be bigger, but the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Texas Edition pays homage to a market that's serious about pickups. We'll be driving the 2014 Silverado this week, in--begin drum roll--Texas. Be sure to check back soon for impressions from associate editor Trevor Dorchies. The location of the launch is certainly not a coincidence, as Maria Rohrer, Chevrolet marketing director, knows well. "The Silverado Texas Edition recognizes that one out of every six full-size pickups are sold in Texas. It combines features that add real value for Silverado customers with unique badging that honors the connection between Texans and their trucks."
Just what does the Texas Edition add? Available on the midlevel Silverado LT or higher trim LTZ, the Texas Edition adds 20-inch polished rims, a towing package, body-color mirror caps and door-handles on the LT and chrome covering on the LTZ, and most importantly, Texas Edition badges. For customers in other states that want similar packaging, it's available as the Custom Sport package, sans the pride-inducing Texas Edition badges.
The Chevrolet Silverado has held its own against the segment leading Ford F-Series. For the 2014 Silverado, Chevy focused on creating a quieter and more comfortable cab, as well as improving the ride and handling. The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado is available with 285-hp v-6 on the LT trim, and a 355-hp V-8 on the LTZ. Source: Chevrolet
