2014 Kia Soul Red Zone Brings Track'ster Concept Details to Life, Excludes the Turbo Power
The 2012 Kia Track'ster concept was so wildly popular upon its Chicago Auto Show debut that Kia is still being berated as to when a turbocharged, all-wheel-drive sports edition of the Soul will hit showrooms. The answer is likely never, as it was a pure concept, destined for your dreams. That isn't stopping Kia from at least creating a special edition of the 2014 Kia Soul to at least recognize some of the style people clamored for. Called the 2014 Kia Soul Red Zone edition, this not-really-red Soul is the first special edition of the new-generation model. Based on the 2014 Kia Soul ! (Exclaim) model that we drove earlier this year, it comes powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that pumps out 164 horsepower, paired to a six-speed automatic that sends power to the front wheels. The car comes featuring white paint, a body kit with redesigned bumper grille, and red accents on its rocker panels. Eighteen-inch wheels, reupholstered black cloth seats with red stitching, red accent stitching throughout the interior, chrome pedals, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and other details that have been painted red inside.Kia showed us this special edition earlier this year at the launch of the 2014 Kia Soul in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and says it will be on sale during the first quarter of 2014. If you have your heart set on one, though, you might want to act fast. Kia is only producing 2,000 Soul Red Zone editions before moving on to another special edition that was previewed a few months ago to journalists. For us, we're still holding out for the real-deal Track'ster. Source: Kia
We've spotted the 2015 Smart Fortwo testing around Los Angeles, so we figured, "Why not take some pictures?"
