2014 Lexus GS 350, 450h, and IS F Receive Updates
With the new model year, the 2014 Lexus GS 350, Lexus 450h and Lexus IS F are getting a few updates. The 2014 GS 350 features a new automatic transmission, the 450h goes from 0 to 60 in 5.6 seconds, and both GS models now feature Siri Eyes Free mode. The 2014 IS F now offers an eight-speed Sport Direct-Shift transmission with a specially built V-8 engine. Taking a closer look at the 2014 Lexus GS 350, it receives a new sight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters on the rear-wheel drive models. Powered by a standard 306 horsepower 3.5-liter V-6 engine, the new 2014 GS 350 now delivers a softer growl when accelerating and quieter tones at cruising speeds thanks to a new dual-tip exhaust. The F Sport package with Adaptive Variable Suspension is now available on the GS 350, as well as integrated Siri Eyes Free Mode that is compatible with the iPhone 4S and new models. The 2014 GS 450h offers improved fuel economy over the outgoing model with a combined rating of 31 mpg. Thanks to the stacked design of the nickel-metal hydride battery pack, trunk space has increased to be even greater than the previous-generation gas-only Lexus GS. Although equipped with a CVT, when the driving mode is switched into Sport S and Sport S+ mode, the transmission mimics the eight-speed transmission found in the GS 350 model, offering a more performance-oriented driving experience. When in normal mode, efficiency and performance retain a balance to accommodate daily driving conditions for a smooth drive. Whether on the road or on the track, the 2014 Lexus IS F stands apart from the rest of the IS lineup. For the new model year, the IS F continues with its specially built 416 horsepower 5.0-liter V-8 engine and eight-speed Sport Direct-Shift transmission. With a chassis refined on the Nurburgring, Circuit Paul Ricard, and Fuji Speedway, the new IS F features better performance and handling than previous models. Now in its seventh year, the IS F gains LED foglamps, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, headrests featuring the "F" logo, black semi-aniline leather-trimmed seats, and red leather-trimmed seats receive black Alcantara inserts with red perforation and black leather-trimmed headrests. A black Alcantara trim has also been added to the doors and center console cover. Source: Lexus
