2014 Mazda CX-9 Crossover Adds New Colors, Features, and $200 to Price

While maybe not receiving as much attention as the lauded Mazda CX-5 crossover, MX-5 Miata, and Mazda3 compact sedan and hatch, the full-size Mazda CX-9 crossover is still an important piece of the equation for Mazda as it expands its U.S. presence and builds on its upswing in popularity. The CX-9 returns for 2014 with few notable changes and a small $200 price increase, starting at $30,780, including $795 for destination and handling, for a Sport model. Of note, the 2014 Mazda CX-9 will have an updated finish on its basic 18-inch wheels, and its 20-inch wheels on Grand Touring models will be all new. Jet Black Mica and Blue Reflex Mica replace Mica Black and Dolphin Gray in the CX-9's palette of exterior colors, and rear cross-traffic alert is being added to all Touring and Grand Touring models. Otherwise, that's about it when it comes to changes. The 2014 Mazda CX-9 will still come with the same 273-horsepower, 3.7-liter V-6. The mid-level CX-9 Touring now starts at $33,275, a $150 increase, and the top-level CX-9 Grand Touring comes in at $35,830, representing a $250 increase. All-wheel drive tacks on an additional $1,590 on top of all prices, and other options packages include the Touring Technology package ($3,000), Grand Touring Technology package ($2,435), Grand Touring Rear Seat Entertainment package ($3,245), heated driver seat for the Sport ($690), Crystal paint ($200), and the towing package for front-wheel-drive Sport models ($100).
