2014 SpongeBob Toyota Highlander: Tanked Edition
Toyota and Nickelodeon have teamed up before to introduce the 2014 SpongeBob Highlander, featuring a custom exterior and interior for the "Happy Driving!" campaign, and the dynamic duo is at it once again. Toyota has upped the ante to deliver the 2014 SpongeBob Highlander: Tanked Edition for the SEMA show in Las Vegas. Animal Planet's 'Tanked' stars, Wayde King and Brett Raymer were called in to transform the 2014 SpongeBob Highlander into a one-of-a-kind 800-gallon aquarium. The actual aquarium starts behind the front seats to stretch the entire length of the interior. More than 32 different species of fish populate the saltwater tank, including fish to represent the iconic Nickelodeon characters like starfish, squirrelfish, Fiji foxface, flame angel, clown fish, and pilot fish. The latest SpongeBob Highlander features a new, custom paint wrap to go with the underwater theme. "Brett and I love the challenge of designing aquariums in every shape and size and welcomed the opportunity to bring living art like this to SEMA. The teams at Toyota and Nickelodeon gave us great platforms in the Highlander and SpongeBob SquarePants to create something fun and inspiring for fans," said King in a recent statement. Those that won't be attending SEMA to see the SpongeBob Highlander: Tanked Edition will have another chance to see it at the Los Angeles Auto Show in a few weeks' time. The episode of Tanked featuring the Highlander aquarium will air on Animal Planet in March 2014, and will highlight the new features, styling and technology. Source: Toyota
