2014 Volvo S60 and XC60 R-Design Show Redesigned Faces in Big Apple
Volvo unveiled the R-Design versions of the S60 and XC60 today at the New York Auto Show, both featuring a redesigned face for a more sporty appearance, as well as driving-focused chassis and 325 horsepower. Also seen on both models is a frameless Tech Matte Black grill with high-gloss black stripes, silk metal diagonal, and a refreshed R-Design emblem. Doug Speck, senior vice president marketing, sales, and customer service at Volvo Car Group said in a statement that, "The new R-Design models are a perfect match for performance-minded individuals with a passion for exquisite details. In the new S60 and XC60 R-Design, we have turned up the visual volume of these popular models with meticulous attention to detail." The redesigned interior features new sport seats in full leather upholstery as standard, with an embroidered R-Design logo with a blue "R." Full leather seats, though, are an available option. Thanks to the Adaptive Digital Display, drivers can choose between three themes--Elegance, Eco, and Performance--and the Elegance theme displays iconic blue instrument dials. Like the standard models, the sporty driving experience sharpened by electronic systems back up the new chassis for the R-Design variants, including Corner Traction Control, Advanced Stability Control, and Engine Drag Control. Both the S60 and XC60 R-Design models will be available in all markets selling the standard models. "The R-Design models, more than half of the volume will be snapped up by buyers who drive others car makes today," says Speck. Source: Volvo
