Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition Bows at 2013 Geneva Motor Show, Only 500 Available in North America

It's been almost two decades since we last had the chance to buy new Alfa Romeo vehicles in the United States but that all changed in the course of one day. Today, both the Alfa Romeo 4C and Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, both of which are destined for our shores. The Alfa Romeo Launch Edition will be limited to 1,000 units worldwide, 500 of which will be released in North America. Each 4C Launch Edition model will be numbered and, while U.S. pricing hasn't been announced yet, it will go for $78,258 in Europe.
While the Alfa Romeo 4C is a looker in its own right, the 4C Launch Edition adds exterior styling cues like a carbon aerodynamic kit, which includes a spoiler and door mirror covers, and a rear aluminum diffuser. The Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition will roll on 18-inch wheels up front and 19-inch wheels in the rear. To further itself from the regular 4C, the 4C Launch Edition features a specific model number and distinct badging. The only available exterior colors for the Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition is Carrar White and Alfa Red.
The Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition gets a racing exhaust and a sport suspension kit that the regular 4C doesn't but that's not even the best part. If you're able to acquire a 4C Launch Edition, you also get to participate in a driving event over in Italy that features an advanced driving session with professional instructors. The interior features leather sport seats that include Alcantara accents and if you decide on the Alfa Red exterior paint, the stitching on the seats, steering wheel, shifter knob, floormats, emergency brake, and door handles is red as well. Underneath the hood lives a 1.8-liter direct-injected turbocharged inline-4 which is rated at 240 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed dual clutch transmission pushes power to the rear wheels and can be controlled by paddle shifters on the steering wheel. As mentioned earlier, we're waiting on Alfa Romeo to release pricing for both the 4C and 4C Launch Edition. We're going to have to wait though as pricing isn't expected to be released until closer to the 4C's release date, which is slated for the end of the year. Source: Alfa Romeo
