Aston Martin readies One-77 to take on Bugatti Veyron

By Automotive Staff | December 31, 2009
Aston Martin has announced that a prototype of its One-77 supercar the has reached a speed of 220.007 mph during testing in southern Europe in dry and windy conditions. For those who are wondering how this compares to other vehicles, the Bugatti Veyron, one of the world’s fastest legal street cars, has been clocked at 253.5 mph, almost 1/3 the speed of sound. Aston Martin’s One-77 is powered by a 7.3 liter V12 engine, and makes extensive use of carbon fiber and aluminum in the construction of its body to help keep weight down. Our take? If Aston Martin's statements are true, then it looks like the One-77 will literally give the Bugatti Veyron a run for its money. via MSN Auto
