Audi 4G LTE Brings High-Speed Internet to 2015 Audi S3, Others
The 2015 Audi S3 will soon be going on sale in Europe before it arrives in the U.S. in early 2014, and with it will come the ability to stream high-speed internet, as you would on a smartphone. The 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) capability will allow users to use the 'net for common Audi Connect services such as Google Earth and navigating with Google Maps, and multiple people can be connected at once: A driver can use voice-to-text to update their Facebook or Twitter Status, while a passenger watches high-definition cat videos on YouTube (or whatever) or streams a movie. Currently LTE is available for order on the S3 Sportback in Europe, and will spread to other variants of the A3 family in November. When it arrives here, U.S. customers will have the option available to make their cars a dedicated hotspot. The 4G LTE network currently exists in the United States and Europe, and is expected to grow rapidly. We were excited when we first saw sedan versions of the 2015 Audi A3 and S3 at a debut ahead of the New York Auto Show earlier this year. The newest A3 will feature full LED lighting, as well as an LED interior package, and choice of a l.8-liter and 2.0-liter gasoline engine, as well as a 2.0-liter TDI clean diesel. The 2015 S3 will feature an enhanced version of the 2.0-liter engine, as well as the usual S-line accoutrements. We're also excited to see what comes out of camp Audi in a few weeks at the upcoming 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show. We reported that Audi may debut a Sport Quattro Coupe, based on the Audi Quattro Coupe Concept that originally debuted in Paris in 2010. It also looks like a 2015 Audi A8 will be bowing in Frankfurt with some new styling to boast. We'll continue to gather and report information as we near the show. Source: Audi
