Audi Appoints Scott Keogh as New American Boss

By Matthew Askari | June 21, 2012
Former Audi of America president Johan De Nysschen surprised many in the industry when he stepped down after nearly twenty years with the German luxury automaker. Days later, we reported De Nysschen would be the new head of Infiniti, and senior vice president of Nissan.  But his departure didn't leave Audi scrambling for too long; today the automaker announced that Scott Keogh would head Audi of America's operations. Keogh will be a familiar face around Audi's Herndon, Virginia headquarters. As Chief Marketing officer for Audi of America, Keogh has spent the last six years leading product planning for the U.S. market. He's also credited with developing a diesel presence for Audi, and reintroducing RS performance models here in America. Speaking on the topic of the future of the brand, Audi AG chairman and chief executive officer Rupert Stadler, said "we see exceptional growth opportunity in the U.S. market as we continue moving toward our goal of positioning Audi as the leading luxury automotive brand in the world by 2020. Gains in the U.S. are a truly strategic pillar for the brand and we are confident that the leadership provided by Keogh will continue the momentum of Audi of America." Audi's domestic operations have been on a roll, setting sales records for the previous 17 months. Source: Audi
