Audi TT RS Plus Gives Euros Legit Porsche Boxster and Cayman Fighter
European Audi fans have cause to celebrate: The Audi TT RS Plus is on the way, and with more power than ever, to further separate the Audi roadster and convertible from the competition. American fans might be wondering why we don't have a "Plus" version, but the answer is simple: we do. The American-spec Audi TT RS is the European Plus version. Our Audi has 360-hp, while the European version only has 340-hp. So the TT RS Plus—in a rare occasion—is Europe's way of catching up to us. It also further separate's Audi's sports car from the Porsche Cayman and Porsche Boxster. In fact, the TT RS Plus has more horsepower than the most powerful Cayman R, sitting pretty at 330. While standalone power is far from the only measure of a great sports car, it's an important one. And with a 0-60 mph time of just over 4 seconds, it bests Porsche's lookers again, even in "S" and "R" trims. Audi plans to build the latest iteration of the TT at the Audi plant in Hungary, where the A3 and other models are currently being built. Fans of the German sports cars can argue which is tops, but getting a little engine boost can only help Audi's cause. Source: Audi
