Australian Holden Commodore Previews Chevy SS
Thanks to Holden, there's no need to wait for the Daytona 500 to get a glimpse at the 2014 Chevrolet SS performance sedan. It's seen in the form of the Australian market Holden VF Commodore, and it doesn't take much imagination to see the same car with Chevy badges instead of the Holden lion. What remains as speculation is what engine will be placed in the SS. There was hardly any information released from Holden, other than park assist, lane departure warning, forward collision alert, and MyLink. However, General Motors Co. North America chief Mark Reuss said the Chevrolet SS will only come with a V-8. The question remaining is what V-8 engine will be used. Will it be the port-injected LS3 seen in the Camaro SS and C6 Corvette, or will it be the new LT1 direct-injected 6.2-liter from the 2014 Corvette Stingray? Also unknown is the transmission, whether it will have a manual option or be an automatic-only. With the Daytona 500 right around the corner, we can expect more details about the 2014 Chevrolet SS to become available, leading to its reveal at the race. Source: Motor Trend, General Motors
