Automobile names 2010 Volkswagen GTI its 2010 Automobile of the Year
Automobile magazine has named the 2010 Volkswagen GTI the 2010 Automobile of the year, beating out the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS, 2010 Ford Mustang GT, 2010 Porsche Panamera S, 2010 Jaguar XFR, 2009 BMW Z4, and 2009 Porsche Cayman S. This is the second time the Volkswagen GTI has had the honor of being named Automobile magazine’s Automobile of the year, with the last generation GTI winning the title just three years ago. The GTI’s second victory makes it the first time that a single make and model has won the award more than once in its 20 year history. A small and nimble car, the TDI is powered by a turbocharged 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine, capable of producing 206 horsepower and 207lbft of torque. All this power packed in the TDI makes it capable of going 0 to 62 mph in 6.0 seconds and a top speed of 149 mph. via egmCarTech
