Fleet companies are funny. We asked Subaru for the keys to a brand new WRX STI, and Subaru's fleet company gave us the Great Pumpkin. On wheels. Only a hundred of them ever made. Special Edition or something. Some treat that turned out to be! Perhaps you already know about the Subaru WRX STI. It's not a new car. Maybe you're familiar with its sweet-revving 305-hp, turbocharged 2.5-liter flat-4 engine, or that you know all about Subaru's Symmetrical AWD and DCCD and VCD and SI-Drive, and a whole host of other nice little things. The STI really does a whole lot of nice little things. Yeah, some of us are Subie fanboys, too. But could the not-fanboys among us live with this thing? And how useful is it, like, around town and stuff? This is the part where we talk about baby seats and strollers and grocery bags. The real world kind of stuff that no one else does. You might be asking yourself why anyone would do that to an STI. Some of that is simply because we already did all that to a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, and a Volkswagen Golf R. And to which you might think that is dumb. But it's proven to be extremely relevant. For example, did you know that a Recaro booster seat fits exactly into the contour of the STI's backseat?
