Behind the Wheel: 2013 Toyota Prius

Venom and vitriol. That's all I heard leading up to my time driving the 2013 Toyota Prius. The best-selling car in California and among the best-selling cars in the world, the Prius has crafted a niche for itself as the go-to car of green chic. Well, until the Tesla Model S came out at least. Still, The Prius has endured 15 years of refinement, helping it grow in efficiency and popularity. Now in the twilight of this generation before an all-new Prius replaces it, the egg-shaped hybrid hatchback still sells in incredible numbers. And it's still among the most-hated vehicles on the road today. Or is it the drivers? We spent a week with the 2013 Toyota Prius, optioned with nearly every option in "IV" equipment level. Most people on staff couldn't stand the thing. Me on the other hand? I think it's one of the best cars on sale today in a certain sense. Read our 2013 Toyota Prius Road Test to find out why.
