Behind the Wheel: 2014 Chevrolet Impala

Paragraphimage The 2014 Chevrolet Impala enters a competitive full size sedan segment, but for the new model year, Chevy looks to even the deck with its latest model. Few nameplates today are as recognizable or familiar as the Chevrolet Impala, and fans have been flocking since the original Impala debuted in 1958. But somewhere along the way, one of Chevrolet's most storied models seemed to have lost its way. People at Chevy took notice, and looked to remedy this with the 2014 Chevrolet Impala. With new styling, designers looked to give the sedan more presence; the 2014 Impala is large, long, and commanding. It's powered by a 305-hp, 3.6-liter V-6, with two four-cylinder options coming soon.  18-inch wheels are standard on the most basic of Impala's, with 19-inch and 20-inch wheels available. There's a new advanced Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with 3-D mapping, and the interior has been rethought. The question is, with all that's new, is the Impala ready to compete with the Toyota Avalon, Ford Taurus, and new Hyundai Azera? You can read our 2014 Chevrolet Impala First Drive, to find out.
