Bentley Green Lights SUV for 2016
Bentley Motors has confirmed that it will develop an SUV, marking the automaker's fourth model line. Set to go on sale in 2016, production for this new vehicle will create 1,000 jobs in the UK, as it will be made at the Crewe factory. Bentley plans to invest over $1 billion for this product and the development of other new models. David Cameron, current UK Prime Minister, and Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Volkswagen Group believe the investment and creation of jobs to be good news for the UK and Crewe, as it will help strengthen the economy. Dr. Winterkorn added that "The Volkswagen Group believes in the UK as a competitive location for industrial production. Bentley fans all around the world are looking forward to the brand's first SUV. Together we will make this new Bentley another True Bentley - powerful, exclusive and successful." Bentley's SUV will stay true to the luxury, performance, quality, and craftsmanship that the brand represents. Thanks to unique styling, the Bentley SUV will stand apart from other SUVs on the road, hoping to be the top in luxury and performance. There is no confirmed word, but don't be surprised if it looks similar to the Bentley EXP 9F concept shown at last year's Geneva Motor Show. However, the outline sketch bears an uncanny resemblance to the concept. Bentley Chairman and Chief Executive Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber also commented on the positive nature of introducing an SUV into the Bentley lineup. "Bentley is increasingly successful and this new fourth model line will leverage the success of the global SUV market. The support of everyone involved with the company has been fundamental to this decision, which will ensure sustainable growth for the company." Source: Bentley
