Britax Recalls 14,220 Child Seats
Infant and child car seat manufacturer, Britax, is recalling 14,220 child seats for a faulty harness. The affected model is the Chaperone line manufactured from September 1, 2010 to April 30, 2011. According to the NHTSA, the safety harness adjuster can detach from the seat shell, decreasing child restraint and increasing the risk of injury or death in the event of an emergency. Britax is notifying owners and providing a repair kit, free of charge, and will begin to ship on or around February 8, 2012. For more information, owners can contact Britax with NHTSA campaign ID number 12C001000 at (888) 427-4829 or www.britaxUSA.com, or the NHTSA at (888) 327-4236 or www.safercar.gov. Source: NHTSA
