At Automotive.com, we're always striving to bring you what you need to know to make an informed buying decision for new and used cars, from our hands-on car reviews, to our buying advice. But we've also wondered about you, the owner. For example, when did you get your first car? What did you name your car? Is smoking in the car a nay or yay? Do you always wear a seatbelt? We polled more than 1,000 people with these questions about car ownership, and some of the responses may surprise you. Check out what our respondents had to say, and learn more about your next new car at Automotive.com

I see... the most popular age of owning a first car is 16.... I wonder how many of those 16 years crashed their cars within the first year!

So wait, 33% of smokers didn't let their passengers smoke in the car when at the same time they were smoking, or 33% of smokers don't smoke in their car and thus don't allow anyone else to either? It's pretty interesting though that 25-34 year-olds are the most tolerant of smoking. The young kids these days (millennials I guess) are healthier than us or maybe tobacco is now finally taboo. It's funny that now tattoos are no longer taboo but smoking is. If you partake in both then you're a real rebel!
