Automobile Magazine Goes the Distance with McLaren, Lexus, Lamborghini, Bugatti Supercars

By Joel Arellano | May 17, 2012
Okay, spouse out of the house? Kids asleep in their beds or, better yet, over at the neighbors' house? Good. First, pardon us for a moment (or post) as Automotive.com sheds it consumer-oriented clothes and slips into tight but oh-so-comfortable car enthusiast garb. Ah, much better. Our enthusiast brethren over at Automobile Magazine recently got a chance to drive four supercars in a special episode of Motor Trend's Head 2 Head. The four beauties included newcomer McLaren MP4-12C, the Asian exotic Lexus LFA, nervous (but in all the right positions) Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, and the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport, reigning queen of the sheets speed. Eric Tingwall of Automobile Magazine goes over each of the lovely rides' portfolio, from their carbon fiber bodies (no metal here!) to all the appropriate measurements (V-8, V-10, V-12, and W-16). Then editor Jason Cammisa takes each for a ride, commenting on their performance solo ("screaming's not enough"), with him ("I cheated"), and against each other ("Want to make your passenger cry? Put them in a Lambo"). So which ride won out? Check out the video below. Just make sure no kids non-enthusiasts are around:

I would really love to see "Enzo vs ZR1", just for the heck of it. Screw the Veyron.
