Cat's out of the Bag: Hyundai Veloster Turbo Revving to 2012 Detroit Auto Show

It's amazing what 140 words can do. A din rose across the autosphere this morning as John Krafcik, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America, officially confirmed via Twitter that the all-new Hyundai Veloster sports compact will receive a turbo variant. Krafcik, of course, didn't release specific details of the Veloster turbo in his tweet but we have a pretty good guess to its specs. In our earlier post, Hyundai Announces New Turbo, Veloster Skeptics Rejoice, Hyundai had unveiled barely two week ago a model equipped with a 1.6-liter inline-four cylinder engine speculated to generate 204 horsepower, significantly better than the standard engine's 138 horsepower. Hyundai will release more details on the Hyundai Veloster Turbo at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show next January. Until then, check out our review of the hatchback at First Drive: 2012 Hyundai Veloster.
