Chevrolet's Sonic and Spark to Get Siri Eyes Free Integration

By | February 13, 2013
If you want to fully use Apple's Siri from behind the wheel, your choices are quickly expanding. Hot on the heels of Honda's Siri integration, Chevrolet announced today that Chevrolet MyLink will be available with Siri on the 2013 Chevrolet Sonic and Spark. Through the standard infotainment system, customers with an iPhone running iOS 6 can direct Siri while keeping their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. "Safe, easy, reliable and portable connectivity is a top priority for our customers, and Siri complements MyLink's existing capabilities to help deliver an incredible driving experience," said Christi Landy, Chevrolet's marketing director for small cars. Owners connect their phones with Bluetooth and use the voice activation button on the steering wheel to use Siri. With Siri, owners of the 2013 Chevrolet Spark and Sonic will be able to make voice-activated calls, play songs from their iTunes library, as well as switch to AM/FM/XM, listen, compose, and sent text messages, and access calendars and add appointments.
Smartphone owners can download the RemoteLink Mobile App that allows OnStar subscribers the ability to control and manage specific vehicle functions via their phone. Both the Sonic and Spark come with six months of OnStar's premium directions and Connections service, and those with a current 2013 Chevrolet Spark or Sonic can upgrade their existing MyLink for Siri compatibility beginning in March.
